Slate is doing an awesome series of articles about weddings. I just wish they had done this last year. I had the misfortune of being "friends" with a girl who was oh so definitely suffering from what they call "acquired situational narcissism" and it sure would've been funny to inform her as such. Do check it out!

It's almost 100 degrees today, ew.

I have an addition & a response to Adam's post about the MTV music awards. The addition is this: the whole award show's "theme" was "Transformers" (the movie version of the TV show that's apparently coming out this summer). They gave out an award for "Best Summer Movie You Haven't Seen Yet" JUST so that "Transformers" could be given an award. Um. If all the candidates are movies no one has seen yet, how did they pick one? You see what I am saying.

My response is this: I still love Dane Cook. I know it's popular to dislike him right now (though I'm not sure why), but all I know is that when he hosted SNL and did the cashew on the penis bit? I laughed harder than I've ever laughed before. Oh, and the skit with the sweater? Awesome. I own one of his more recent CD/DVD sets and both are hilarious. Maybe I just have a dumb sense of humor, but I think he's great and I'm not going to jump on the bandwagon of hate. Also, I still like Myspace.

A trip to the yarn store with Mel yesterday prompted me to resume knitting a cardigan I started back in summer of '04. I stopped working on it after finishing the back, and left myself cryptic instructions for how to do the front part and the sleeves. Every time I've thought about working on the cardigan since then, I've taken a stab at interpreting the instructions and then given up. But not today - today I started one of the front pieces and so far it's going swimmingly. I'll need more yarn though...hopefully they still make this color.
