It's all coming back to me!

I was driving to school this morning on the GW Parkway, and there's this one part where you go under an arched bridge, and the river is to your right, and there's a footpath between the parkway and the river. Anyway, as I was about to go under the bridge, I suddenly realized that this particular spot reminded me EXACTLY of driving along Front Street in Harrisburg. From the time I was born until I was 8 or so, we lived in a big old house near the Susquehannah, a few blocks from Front Street. I remember taking walks with my mom along a foot path that went between the street and the river, and there was an arched bridge. I loved walking under that bridge because it was echo-y, and I liked that it shouted back at me. I also remember there was this one tree that looked like it had a goblin face in it, and I was kind of scared of it. But most importantly, I remember making my mom lift me up to look into every single trash can, because my absolute favorite thing in the world was Oscar the Grouch. I was SO SURE he'd be in one of those trash cans. And thinking about it, most of my childhood heroes were sort of jerks. Oscar the Grouch, the Grinch (who stole Christmas), and Georgette the asshole poodle from Oliver & Company. These were my three favorites for the longest time. And all of them were mean. I think this explains a lot :)
Why this weekend was super!

1) I didn't work on my CRLJ note AT ALL.
2) They opened a Madame Tussaud's IN DC!!! If you know anything about me at all, it's that I love wax museums. DC just got significantly more bearable.
3) I got to wear a hat AND scarf today, because it's FINALLY fall, AND, I got falafel.
4) Adam put Leopard on my Mac, and it's nifty!
I guess nothing really happened this weekend, but compared to last weekend (when I was freaking out over the 1st draft of my CRLJ note as well as my "oral argument" nonsense), it was a delight.
Belated Halloween

Our Halloween was pretty uneventful. We carved pumpkins:
Arthur revisted his costume from last year:
And both cats got nice new collars! Adam picked out Harry's Harley Davidson collar & bone tag:
I picked out Arthur's new gold collar (which you can't really see in the photo) and a little heart tag (because I wish he was a girl):
