Adam & I went to Philly this weekend for my birthday. On Friday we saw the Frida Kahlo exhibit at the art museum, and on Saturday we went to see the Eastern State Penitentiary. This place was super creepy - it was an active prison from 1829 until 1970, and it's all decomposing and crumbly and freaky. And possibly haunted, if you go for that kinda thing. Here are some views from the inside:

Man, I love me some America's Next Top Model. But something about it that pisses me off every season is the "go-see" episode. This is the one where the girls are sent out into a city to see designers, who then critique the girls on how they present themselves (as potential "clients'). Whenever Tyra's actually kept the token plus-sized model (she always has ONE) around long enough to get to this episode, this is the poor girl's downfall. See, most designers ONLY make dresses in size two - at least for the runway. And there are a handfull of designers who make "plus-sized" clothing (either exclusively or in addition to size two's). Tyra never, NEVER sends the girls to a designer who makes runway clothing for plus-sized models, and the lone plus-sized model on the show is always coldly informed by the designer that they wouldn't book her because of her size. Some seasons, the designers don't even have anything available for the plus-sized girl to wear, and they have to PIN something to her. Does the plus-sized girl even get a fighting chance in this episode? Of course not. Anyway, tonight's the go-see episode, and Whitney is getting screwed.

BUT - what is this??? As I am typing this, some designer called "Shoshana" says she WOULD book a plus-sized model!!! We have a breakthrough!!! Damnit, Tyra, it's like you can read my mind.

Claire better win this thing, is all I have to say.
